Sad Things

Good morning Friends,

For many, particularly Americans, today brings with it a reminder of what happens when hatefulness arises. The attacks on September 11, 2001 will be remembered by many folks in my generation, and will hopefully be a source of inspiration rather than fear for most.

It should be inspiring to us because of the way so many men and women braved the fire and wreckage in their attempts to save those would could be saved that terrible morning, and even more so because of what has been built on the ashes of the fallen. Inspiration leads us in the direction of freedom, while fear only subjugates us and leads us toward states of woe.

If we give ourselves to acts of hatred (mental, verbal, or physical) it will do nothing but lead others toward similar acts against us. Fear will lead us toward hatred, but that which inspires us to act in peace and loving-kindness will always lead to good for the whole world.

Remember today not just the sad things that occurred years ago, but the good that can be done in spite of those things. If you look with an open heart, you can find inspiration.

May you be well, friends!

BTW: 200th post today. Chaos!
